Language has not only become essential since globalization and the increasing interconnectedness of the world—it has always been so. Even the best translation programs cannot replace one’s own well-developed, nuanced intercultural communicative competence, because language is —and can be— so much more. And the language to which everything ultimately returns, which serves as the foundation of communication in today’s world—THE lingua franca—is English.

Mr. Kessler: „I am proud to serve as the new speaker of the English Department at Karl-Rehbein-Schule Hanau. During my studies, I had the valuable opportunity to spend time in the United States as a Fulbright scholar, which deeply shaped my perspective on language learning and intercultural exchange.
I am delighted to work alongside a dedicated and passionate department, and I look forward to further strengthening communicative, student-oriented approaches to teaching. In addition to my role in the English Department, I am also responsible for coordinating the school’s job orientation programme, supporting students as they prepare for their future career paths.
I am excited about the journey ahead and the continued development of English as one of the biggest and key departments of our school.
